Ingredients 1/2 cup butter 1 cup dark brown sugar 1 egg 1 teaspoon vanilla 1/2 cup all purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup pecans, chopped 1/4 cup confectioner's (powdered sugar) - optional
Steps
Over low heat melt butter and add brown sugar. Stir constantly until sugar dissolves, then pour into bowl. Cool until just warm.
Beat in egg and vanilla.
Sift together: flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to sugar, butter, and egg mixture; beat.
Gently fold in the nuts.
Bake at 350° F for 25 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar and cut into 2" squares when cool.
