Organic Plant Fungicide
one gallon of water
1 tablespoon baking soda (Note: Some resources recommend using potassium bicarbonate as a substitute for baking soda.)
1 tablespoon vegetable cooking oil (Helps mixture cling to leaves and stems.)
1/2 tsp dishwashing liquid (Helps mixture cling to leaves and stems. DO NOT use anti-bacterial types. )
- Shake well and then spray on the plant you wish to protect and/or rescue.
- If your plants are already diseased, make sure to remove all leaves and stems that are affected. Also remove any mulch or dead leaves underneath the plant - don't compost them - put them in the trash.
- Very important: spray the undersides of the leaves, as well as the top. The underside is where disease can begin.
- Don't spray in direct sun in the heat of the day; spray in the morning or late evening.
