Holiday Cheese Tree
Aunt Bessie used to make this. It's so pretty!!
Here's a video from Martin's Savory Foods on how to make the tree-shaped one. Little bit different recipe, but try either one! https://recipecenter.martinsfoods.com/recipes/231672/christmas-tree-cheese-ball
Ingredients
1 (8oz.) package cream cheese
1/2 cup crushed cracker crumbs
1-1/2 cup cooked chicken or turkey (optional)
3 tbsp chopped black olives
2 tbsp chopped onions
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup milk
1 cup grated cheddar cheese or Monterey Jack
2 tbsp chopped pimiento
2 tbsp mayonnaise
parsley, red pepper strips, and cherry tomatoes for garnish
Steps
1 (8oz.) package cream cheese
1/2 cup crushed cracker crumbs
1-1/2 cup cooked chicken or turkey (optional)
3 tbsp chopped black olives
2 tbsp chopped onions
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup milk
1 cup grated cheddar cheese or Monterey Jack
2 tbsp chopped pimiento
2 tbsp mayonnaise
parsley, red pepper strips, and cherry tomatoes for garnish
Steps
- Blend softened cream cheese with milk, add crumbs and cheddar cheese; blend until smooth.
- Add remaining ingredients, except parsley; mix well.
- Pack into a 1 qt. bowl or mold lined with saran wrap.
- Chill several hours.
- Form into a wreath or a tree flat on a platter and sprinkle with parsley. (It's easier if you cover it with saran wrap while shaping it.)
- After you've shaped it, sprinkle all over with finely chopped parsley. Then decorate the tree with the cherry tomatoes, and red pepper strips.
