Straight from the Houston Livestock Show Cook-off...from our family and friends' BBQ Team - Beef, Beer, and Burps!
Ingredients - Makes 2 and 1/2 cups.
1/2 cup strong black coffee
1/2 Worcestershire sauce
1/2 ketchup
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 and 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped onion
1/8 cup minced hot chili peppers
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup strong black coffee
1/2 Worcestershire sauce
1/2 ketchup
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 and 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped onion
1/8 cup minced hot chili peppers
3 cloves garlic, minced
Steps
- Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Simmer 25 minutes, stirring occasionally. Don't let it burn or stick!
- Remove from heat and let cool for about 30 minutes.
- Puree in a blender or food processor. (Don't put the sauce in hot - it will bubble up and can burn you!)
- Use immediately or transfer to a jar and refrigerate between uses. Keeps for about a week in refrigerator.
