Oven BBQ Chicken

Easy and fast!  You can use thighs and legs instead or a mixture.  Serve with corn on the cob, cole slaw, and potato salad!

Ingredients
4 large chicken breast halves (skin on)
barbecue sauce - your favorite or make Hubby's BBQ Sauce (see below)
Steps
  1. Rinse chicken breasts and pat dry.  Place breast side up in casserole dish with 5 tablespoons of water in the bottom.  (You can use thighs and legs, as well.)
  2. Liberally brush on barbecue sauce (all sides).
  3. Bake 45 - 60 minutes in 400° F oven until internal temp measures 160° degrees.
Hubby's BBQ Sauce
Ingredients
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup ketchup or tomato sauce
1/2 cup of water

1/3 cup red wine vinegar or 1/4 cup plain white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
Steps
  1. Dissolve sugar over low heat with ketchup and water.  
  2. When sugar is dissolved, whisk in all seasonings and simmer over very low heat for 10 - 15 minutes, stirring frequently.


​1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons mustard
1 teaspoon red pepper (paprika)
salt and pepper to taste
