Aunt Bessie's Angel Biscuits

Aunt Bessie Holdaway (Mama's sister) used to make these for us on Christmas morning!
Ingredients
1 pkg dry yeast
2 tbsp very warm water
5 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
3 teaspoons baking powder
2 tbsp sugar
1 & 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 cup butter (softened)
2 cups buttermilk

Steps
  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water; sift dry ingredients. Cut in shortening; add milk and yeast mixture. Stir until moist. Turn out on floured board and knead 2 minutes
  2. Roll dough to 1/2 inch and cut into biscuit shapes.
  3. Bake at 450° F until light brown.
