Brandy Alexander cocktails have been around since the early 1900s, when they appeared as "Alexanders" in a book called, Recipes for Mixed Drinks.  New York legend has it being served at the Hotel Rector in NYC, where it was named for bartender, Troy Alexander.  I was first introduced to them while living in Florida, in my younger days.  Sipping Brandy Alexanders was a fine way to spend a hot, Florida evening.  We mixed ours with ice cream - sometimes chocolate!  Hmmm....
