Butterscotch Brownies
I am a brownie fanatic! Let me tell you, it's hard to find a decent butterscotch brownie recipe - but here's a great one!
Ingredients
1/2 cup butter
1 cup dark brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup pecans, chopped
1/4 cup confectioner's (powdered sugar) - optional

Steps
- Over low heat melt butter and add brown sugar. Stir constantly until sugar dissolves, then pour into bowl. Cool until just warm.
- Beat in egg and vanilla.
- Sift together: flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to sugar, butter, and egg mixture; beat.
- Gently fold in the nuts.
- Bake at 350° F for 25 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar and cut into 2" squares when cool.
