Daddy's Orange Sherbet

gluten free
Daddy made this orange sherbet several times every summer, outside in the shade of the Chinaberry tree.  I can still taste how refreshing it was in the summer heat!

(Daddy used Nehi orange soda, but Fanta or Sunkist will work.  Don't use artificially sweetened.)
Ingredients
3 cans (12 ounces each) orange soda
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
1 can (8 ounces) crushed pineapple, undrained
Steps
Put orange drinks, milk, and pineapple in refrigerator until cold
Stir all together in a bowl.
Fill cylinder of ice cream maker no more than two-thirds full.
Freeze according to the manufacturer’s directions. (Refrigerate any remaining mixture until ready to freeze.)
Eat immediately – it will be a little soft.  Or put sherbet in containers in the freezer and let sit for 2 or so hours.
