Ingredients
6 slices of bread - thick slices are better
4 large eggs
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup whole milk
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons coconut oil or olive oil
Steps
  1. Whisk together:  eggs, cream, milk, sugar in a bowl.
  2. Dip pieces of bread into the mixture - letting the mixture sink in well, then flip to the next side and coat as well.
  3. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon oil and 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat.  Don't let it burn or smoke.
  4. Remove 2 or 3 slices at a time from the milk mixture, letting them drip first.  Place them in the skillet and cook until golden brown - 2 to 3 minutes for each side.
  5. Put cooked slices on a greased cookie sheet in a warm oven to keep warm.  Repeat process with the rest of the slices.  (You may need to add additional oil or butter as the cooking progresses.)
  6. Serve with jam, butter, syrup, powdered sugar, cinnamon, honey, or even salsa!!
