Jackie's Pinto Beans - Jackie Ricker

This is my brother's recipe for pinto beans.  Serve it with some rice and some cornbread and you have a whole meal.  He used to make this on Christmas Eve at Mama and Daddy's!

Try Jalapeño Cornbread with these!  
Ingredients
bag of dried pinto beans
3 to 4 cloves of garlic, whole
red pepper flakes to taste
black pepper
1 large onion, chopped
seasoning (Jackie uses Pitts & Spits.)  Montreal Steak seasoning would also work)
salt pork
Steps
  1. Wash beans and put in water; bring to a boil.
  2. Season with black pepper, whole cloves of garlic, red pepper flakes, and other seasoning.
  3. Let boil about 15 minutes.
  4. Lower heat and cook for 2 hours.
  5. In separate pan, sauté salt pork and onions.  Add to beans and cook one hour more.
