Steps
- Combine sugar, cornstarch, and water in a saucepan and cook on medium-high heat until thickened. Stir constantly.
- Remove from heat and stir in the butter, zest, lemon juice, and salt.
- Return to heat and cook an additional 2 or 3 minutes until thickened again.
- Use while hot.
