Steps
- Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
- Stir together flour and yeast in a mixing bowl. Stir in melted butter or coconut oil and sugar.
- Stir in half of the water; continue stirring until a dough starts to form. Then gradually add the rest of the water to make a dough that's a bit sticky.
- Put dough on a floured surface and knead for 10-15 minutes. You can use your stand mixer with a dough attachment to do this in about 5 minutes.
- Shape dough in a ball and put it in a well-oiled bowl. Cover and place in a warm spot to rise about an hour until it doubles in size.
- With your fist, knock the dough down and then divide in about 10 -12 equal pieces. With clean hands, shape pieces into flat ovals on a floured surface and lightly dust each with flour.
- Take the handle end of a wooden spoon and make 2 indentations on each roll, so there are 3 sections on the top. (Don't cut through the dough!!
- Put the rolls on the prepared cookie sheets and cover. Let rise again for about 30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated 400° F oven for 20 minutes until golden brown. Cool on wire racks completely before using.
