Wonderful!! You can grind your own almonds in a food processor or use almond flour.
Ingredients
8 oz semisweet chocolate, broken into pieces
1 cup butter, cut into 1" pieces
1 cup sugar
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp orange zest
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 eggs, slightly beaten
1 & 1/2 cups almonds, ground fine (or almond flour)
1 cup walnuts, toasted and chopped (optional)
1 tbsp cocoa powder
8 oz semisweet chocolate, broken into pieces
1 cup butter, cut into 1" pieces
1 cup sugar
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp orange zest
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 eggs, slightly beaten
1 & 1/2 cups almonds, ground fine (or almond flour)
1 cup walnuts, toasted and chopped (optional)
1 tbsp cocoa powder
Steps
- Chop walnuts and toast on a baking sheet in a 325° F oven for about 5 or 6 minutes, stirring once and peeking to prevent burning. Set aside in a bowl to cool.
- In a pan over low heat, stir chocolate and butter pieces CONTINUOUSLY until they have both melted. As soon as they have melted, remove pan from heat.
- Stir in sugar, cinnamon, zest, and vanilla. Set aside to cool.
- Process almonds in a food processor to grind them. Add them to the bowl of chopped walnuts. Add eggs and stir together to combine. Stir in the chocolate mixture.
- Grease a 9" square baking pan and dust with cocoa, if you have some. Put the brownie batter into the dish and bake at 325° F for 25 to 30 minutes. The brownies will seem a bit gooey, but will set up as they cool. When cool, slice and top with whipped cream or ice cream.
