No-Knead Bowl Bread

Ingredients
2 tsp instant yeast
2 tsp salt
2 tsp sugar
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups warm (not hot) water
OPTIONAL:  You can add any of your favorite herbs, like rosemary or oregano.  You can add sunflower seeds or other seeds or nuts, as well.

  1. In a large bowl, stir together dry ingredients.  Add the warm (not hot) water and stir until it’s mixed well and holding together a bit.
  2. Cover the bowl with a dish towel, put it in a warm place in the kitchen, and let dough rise for about 2 hours, until it’s double in size.
  3. Grease 2 oven-proof bowls with butter, all over the inside.  If you don’t have any such bowls, you can use loaf pans.
  4. Put half of the dough in one bowl and half in the other.  Cover with dish towels and let rise about 36 minutes until it's risen a bit.
  5. Preheat oven to 425° F.  Bake for 15 minutes.  Reduce heat to 375° F and bake another 20 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Leave the bread in the bowls to cool for about 15 minutes before you turn the bowls over and empty the bread onto a plate or a breadboard.
