- In a large bowl, stir together dry ingredients. Add the warm (not hot) water and stir until it’s mixed well and holding together a bit.
- Cover the bowl with a dish towel, put it in a warm place in the kitchen, and let dough rise for about 2 hours, until it’s double in size.
- Grease 2 oven-proof bowls with butter, all over the inside. If you don’t have any such bowls, you can use loaf pans.
- Put half of the dough in one bowl and half in the other. Cover with dish towels and let rise about 36 minutes until it's risen a bit.
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Bake for 15 minutes. Reduce hat to 374 degrees and bake another 20 minutes until golden brown.
- Leave the bread in the bowls to cool for about 15 mintues before you turn the bowls over and empty the bread onto a plate or a breadboard.
