Ooze!

AKA:  flubber, oobleck, or slime!

Kids Cook
Not for consumption, but lots of fun, laughs, and a big mess.  Take this one outside, folks, and have some science fun!
When children (and even teens) are helping in the kitchen, always use safety first as your motto!
Supervise carefully and pay attention to details.   Remember - YOU are the responsible one.

Ingredients:
measuring cups

1 cup of dry cornstarch
large bowl or pan
food coloring (if you want)
1/2 cup of water
  1. Go outside for this and put on some old clothes!!  Also, don't eat it - it's harmless, but not tasty!
  2. Put the cup of cornstarch into a bowl.
  3. If you want it to be fun colors,  add a drop or two of food coloring.   It WILL stain your hands a bit, but that's part of the fun!
  4. Add water slowly, stopping every now and then to mix it with your fingers until it's all wet.
  5. Now keep adding a little water at a time, until the Ooze feels like a liquid when you're mixing it slowly.
  6. Test to see if it's ready by  tapping on the surface with your finger or a spoon.
  7. If the Ooze is perfect, it won't splash--it will feel solid.  If the Ooze is too dry, add a tiny bit more water.  If it's too wet, add a little more cornstarch.  Easy, huh?
