Rum Sauce - Aunt Bessie Holdaway

Fantastic sauce for bread pudding and cakes!

Ingredients
1 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
1/2 cup half and half
1/4 cup rum (dark is best)
1/2 cup dark corn syrup
1/4 cup butter
Steps
  1. In a saucepan, over low heat, stir together the sugar, corn syrup, cream, and butter. Stir constantly until it boils. 
  2. Cool to warm, stirring occasionally.
  3. Stir in rum and vanilla.  
  4. Serve over cakes, ice cream, or just eat it with a spoon!
