Sour Cream Raisin Pie - Aunt Bessie Holdaway
A very old recipe from the Holdaway family
Ingredients
1 cup sugar
1 & 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cloves
3 egg yolks
1 & 1/2 cups raisins
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp nutmeg
2 tbsp cornstarch
1 & 1/2 cups sour cream

Steps
- In saucepan, mix sugar, spices, and cornstarch.
- Beat in egg yolks, then cream and raisins.
- Cook over low heat about 20 minutes, stirring constantly, until well-thickened.
- Remove from heat and cool 10 - 15 minutes.
- Pour into pie shell, cover pie shell top with strips of pastry, if desired.
- Bake 30 - 40 minutes at 350° F.
