Sour Cream Raisin Pie - Aunt Bessie Holdaway

A very old recipe from the Holdaway family

Ingredients
1 cup sugar
1 & 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cloves
3 egg yolks
1 & 1/2 cups raisins
​
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp nutmeg
2 tbsp cornstarch
1 & 1/2 cups sour cream
1 (9-inch) pie crust, unbaked  (Recipe Link)
Steps
  1. In saucepan, mix sugar, spices, and cornstarch.
  2. Beat in egg yolks, then cream and raisins.
  3. Cook over low heat about 20 minutes, stirring constantly, until well-thickened.
  4. Remove from heat and cool 10 - 15 minutes.
  5. Pour into pie shell, cover pie shell top with strips of pastry, if desired.
  6. Bake 30 - 40 minutes at 350° F.
