Tomato Plant Spray -
​Keeps the bugs away!

Caution: 
  • Be careful spraying anything with soap around cucumber and melon plants - they may be sensitive.  Try a small area first.  
  • Always use caution when spraying in the garden.  Wear protective eye gear and gloves.  Try to spray when it's not windy!
1 quart weak tea  
3 tsp dishwashing liquid (Do NOT use antibacterial type.)
3 tbsp chewing tobacco juice  ** See directions below.
1/8 tsp mustard
  1. Shake well and spray on tomato plants about once every 7 - 10 days to keep away the bugs!

Chewing Tobacco Juice:  Take about 5 tablespoons of chewing tobacco and put it in cheesecloth or part of an old piece of pantyhose.  Secure with a knot and put in a quart of hot water to steep.
