gf / v
I had Sangria for the first time in Spain.  I loved it and love to recreate it at home.

Makes a pitcher full!
Ingredients
2 cups sliced fruit:
  • I like oranges, lemons, strawberries, blueberries, apples, mango, pineapple.  Any combo is possible - but No bananas.
1 cup of brandy - (You can substitute vodka, but you may need a bit more sugar.)
3 tablespoons sugar
2 bottles chilled red wine - (Best if it's a Merlot or Cabernet - nothing too dry)
1 cup orange juice
Ice (if you like)
Steps
  1. Put the red wine in the refrigerator and let it get cold.
  2. Get a fairly large pitcher and put in the sliced fruit, sugar, and brandy or vodka.  Give it a couple of stirs and refrigerate for a couple of hours.  (If you're in a cocktail emergency, feel free to skip this step.)
  3. Before serving, add chilled red wine and orange juice.  You can serve over ice, but I like mine without.  Use some fruit to garnish.
