Four Unforgettable Cakes!
These have a long history in my family!  Each one is different, but delicious!

Gloria and Lizzy's Whipped cream Pound Cake

Gloria Ford and Lizzy, the Fords' cook, used whip up this cake for many birthdays and special occasions.  It's moist and so reminiscent of spring.  Serve it with some ice cream or some berries - why not both?

German Chocolate Cake

This German Chocolate Cake is famous!    It has graced our family tables on many special occasions and travelled across many state lines with Mom.   The taste is so good, that could almost be considered bootlegging! 

Raspberry Lemon Cheesecake

This is no-fail!  Seriously!  I usually make this cake every Christmas Eve - and who knows what condition I may be in while cooking then?  Stressed?  Tipsy?  Rushed?  You name it, I've been there while making this cheesecake.  I even made it in a cast-iron skillet once, because I couldn't find the bottom of my springform pan.  It always turns out great and never, ever disappoints!  You can easily substitute strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, or peaches for the sauce, but keep the lemon flavor.  It intensifies all the flavors and brings them together.

Plum Küchen

This German recipe is like a cross between a cake and a cobbler - very moist.  I originally got it from my non-German mother!  It's a wonderful way to use fresh plums when they're in season.
