Cinnamon roll bites

Bite-sized morsels of cinnamon roll goodness!

Picture
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 stick cold butter, cut in fairly small cubes
3/4 cup cold milk
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
dash ground nutmeg
1 additional stick butter, melted
  1. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Using a fork, combine the cold butter cubes into the flour mixture.  Work with it until it's crumbly.
  3. Slowly stir in the milk, making the dough start to form a ball.  If it's too dry, add a bit more milk; too sticky, add more flour.
  4. Grease a pie pan on the sides.  Melt 4 tablespoons of butter and pour into the bottom of the pan, spreading it with a rubber spatula.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together both sugars, cinnamon, and nutmeg.  With your clean hands, shape and roll the dough into 1-inch balls.  Dip them in the sugar mix and put in the pie pan.  (I put them in a circular pattern, but it doesn't really matter.)
  6. Sprinkle the rest of the melted butter over the dough.
  7. Place the pie pan on a cookie sheet or baking sheet to catch drips.  Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for about 25 minutes.  The butter mixture will be bubbly!
