Crostini with Pear & Blue Cheese

Running out of time when preparing to entertain is my specialty.  These are lifesavers.   You can make a boatload of these in 10 or 15 minutes!   ​

1 long French baguette (crusty French bread)
olive oil
2 to 3 fresh pears, sliced thin (Remove core and do not peel.)
blue cheese, room temperature
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp honey
  1. Slice the French bread into fairly thin slices - about 1/2 to 1 inch thick.
  2. Place bread on a cookie sheet and brush the tops of the bread with olive oil.
  3. Bake in 350 degree oven until surface of bread is lightly browned.  Keep watching, so it doesn't burn.  I can't really tell you how long this will take.  It depends on the bread and your oven!  Trust me, keep looking at it.
  4. Remove bread from oven and let cool.  
  5. Spread with room-temperature blue cheese and top with a slice of pear. 
  6. Drizzle with a few drops of the honey and lemon mixtures.  You are DONE!
